Lake Garda, Italy 2024 reviews
“The Italian lakes and lake Garda provide a beautiful back drop for a week of de stressing yoga, good food and drink, strengthening friendships and making new ones. the hotel was so welcoming and the spa facilities amazing. our visits together to nearby sights and scenes and our conversations over a meal about life and loves made this a special week of finding our each and own element.”
“As soon as I met the other yogis prior to our flight, I felt the pressures and strains of daily life fall from my shoulders and it only got better. the perfect ingredients came together for a wonderful week- yoga whilst watching the sun rise, a fabulous spa (3 saunas no less!), exceptional food and wine, a stunning location, but most importantly for me was the company, the laughs, having fun and letting go!”
“so special to be in such cheerful company on this retreat. a great atmosphere and working towards understanding finding your element was enlightening, satisfying and emotional.”
“My experience in Italy with Susan and my other yogis was brilliant. the hotel was fantastic, it was great service and we had everything we needed. Susan did an amazing job making sure we got to where we needed to be by organising all transport transfers. all of this in combination meant there was no stress, could concentrate on me, taking time to relax and chill to practice my yoga and get to know knew friends. I had a fantastic time and completely chilled from my busy life.”
Meco, Lisbon, Portugal 2023 reviews
I had a wonderful time on the yoga retreat in Portugal. Warm air on bare skin, good food, excellent company, sand between my toes and a swimming pool. I surprised myself by being able to get up early for the yoga sessions. It felt good to have done the exercise before breakfast. Susan led well thought out classes which gave us a full a range of movement, speed and breathing exercises. The week was a lovely time to chill and get to know other people in a very relaxed setting. There was nothing to plan or be concerned about, as all was organised. I highly recommend it, even if you don’t do a lot of yoga.
One morning yoga session ended with a meditation using mallah beads to repeat a mantra 108 times. From the mantras provided I chose ‘So Hum’ which means ‘I am one with the universe’ because I want to have more faith in the universe and let go of things I cannot control. The next day we took a wrong turn on our route to the beach and ended up approaching the cliff top where a group of people were setting up for paragliding. They asked if we wanted to try, as they were taking people up in tandem and the conditions were perfect at that time. I am so pleased I trusted the universe had brought me to that opportunity and I said yes - usually I would prevaricate until the chance had passed by. It was a glorious sensation and as tricky as sitting in a comfy chair. -J-

I wanted to let you know that since daily practice in Portugal I’ve made some other changes, including keeping up daily practice on the mat as well as kindness to me . I’m hoping I can keep it up- my body seems to be appreciating it and it feels more able to move and I’m amazed at what I can do. I’m spending less time online and more just ‘being.’ Something really clicked during our silent morning for me and I’m pushing back and saying no to demands I’m invited to engage with. I feel very different- in a good way. Thank you xx

Such a restful and restorative week - with good food, wine and company. I liked the totally non-judgemental, supportive environment that quickly removed my fear of going on “a retreat”. Daily early morning yoga improved my confidence in my own practice and prepared my mind for the rest of the day’s activities - be it sightseeing in Lisbon or taking a boat trip surrounded by dolphins. Susan’s yoga and meditation sessions changed in perfect balance with the mood for each day of the week. Down time, and the idyllic accommodation gave me the space to think and to learn from such a diverse group of fantastic women.

“The Portugal 2019 Retreat more than surpassed our expectations. The venue was idyllic, delightfully laid out with comfortable accommodation and food. When not doing yoga on the beach, we walked about 50 metres through the lightly dappled gum trees in the grounds, to the glass fronted studio overlooking the swimming pool! The yoga itself was remarkably fulfilling, so by the end of the week we felt totally relaxed and happy. Thanks to the superb organisation by Susan, we so enjoyed our week.” E & J
